On September 7-9, 2021 the main events for industry specialists took place: The 13th International Exhibition and Forum for Waste Management, Environmental Technologies and Renewable Energy WasteTech 2021 well as the 15th international exhibition and forum "Water: Ecology and Technology" EcwaTech 2021. Events were traditionally held at Crocus Expo.
For 3 days, 8486 specialists visited both exhibitions and had the opportunity to gain knowledge, find business partners, meet personally with equipment and service providers, discuss new projects.
At the WasteTech 2021 exposition more than 80 companies from 11 countries presented equipment and technologies for waste collection, processing and disposal, new products in the field of recycling, wastewater treatment and sludge management, air pollution prevention, rehabilitation of contaminated territories and water areas, improvement of populated areas, etc.
Among the participants of the show were industry leaders and well-known players: RG-Techno, Stalbau, EKOROSSTROY, Eco-Spectrum, ERGA, PROSHOP, Ai-Plast, REMONDIS, Tomra Sorting, Ecocom, Avtobau and others.
At the stand of RG-Techno visitors could find advanced transport solutions for the waste management industry from such brands as ZOELLER, FARID, Palfinger, HIAB, Meiller, and Doppstadt. Presona-Technics, a supplier of automatic Presona presses from Sweden, presented a unique pre-pressing technology.
At the stand of Eco-Spectrum visitors got acquainted with modern equipment for waste incineration from the leading domestic manufacturer in the segment of industrial equipment for waste disposal and neutralization on the Russian Federation market. STAHLBAU presented equipment of the domestic Kazakhstan machine-building enterprise, one of the leading companies in the field of production and integrated supplies of municipal special equipment. Visitors could find a variety of advanced solutions from German companies in The German Pavilion.
Participants shared their opinions about the exhibition.
“The WasteTech exhibition is quite significant for us, it’s the largest industry exhibition where we have the opportunity to show our products to a large number of customers. We have been participating in the exhibition historically since 2006” – said Roman Lobov, General manager of RG-Techno.
"We like the exhibition because it’s possible to communicate with our customers and meet new ones. We have made a lot of business contacts. To It’s important to communicate in person to make serious decisions, which is why we love such meetings," – said Alexander Nevolin, head of Nevlabs.

Business program of WasteTech 2021 included events for professionals from various fields of the industry.
During 3 days, more than 60 experts and representatives of leading companies in the waste management, environmental technologies and renewable energy industries discussed about market trends and actual issues, presented their solutions.
On September 7, the first day of WasteTech, an official tour of the exhibition was held with participation of government agencies, followed by the signing of an agreement on cooperation and joint activities in the field of transition to a closed-loop economy between the All-Russian Society for Nature Protection and the Association for the Promotion of a Closed-loop Economy "Resource".
The program of the conference this day included following sessions:
- "Modern environmental technologies is a vector of sustainable development";
- "Closed-loop Economy" organized by Association for the Promotion of a closed-loop Economy "Resource";
- "Integrated Waste Management System and Key Changes in Industry legislation";
- "Extended producer responsibility in the field of electrical equipment and batteries" organized by the German society for international cooperation (GIZ GmbH).
Also, on this day International Environmental Award EcwaTech & WasteTech EWA Awards ceremony was held. This is a unique event that has no analogues in Russia for the water and environmental technologies industry, which allows you to determine the best of the best in the presented categories. The EWA Award is designed to identify products, services, and projects that have a valid quality argument.
On September 8, on the second day of WasteTech, delegates attended following events:
- "Secondary material resources market and recycling prospects in Russia";
- "Innovative technological solutions – strategic development of the waste management industry";
- "Digitalization of MSW and industrial waste management";
- "About Money: Digitalization of the waste management industry in practice" Organized by Bolshaya Troika;
- #OPENLAB 5.1 "Waste Management: Business and Technology" organized by RG-Techno.
On September 9, the final day of WasteTech participants of the business program attended a tour to the Recycling Museum.
